On the 8th of March, 2019, one of the most anticipated movies of the year was released. Captain Marvel, starring Brie Larson as the titular hero and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, is the first female-led superhero movie to be released by Marvel as the newest addition to the MCU and a prelude to Avengers: Endgame.
Due to certain trolls who claim to not want to watch the movie due to Brie Larson's 'overactive feminist attitude', many movie review websites have given the movie a very low rating. This will probably reduce the interest of the audience who depend on such websites for their movie desires. However, we at Comic Creed have seen the movie and we are now going to provide our own insight on the movie while trying our very bests to avoid spoilers for those who haven't watched the movie.

What's Great About It
I will like to start by saying Brie Larson almost perfectly plays Carol Danvers on the big screen. She is now to channel the slightly emotionally detached, witty and badass nature Carol Danvers has in the comics. I wouldn't say she is meant to be Carol Danvers as Ryan Reynolds is meant to be Deadpool, but we does become very close.
In the co-starring role, we have Nick Fury who was digitally de-aged for his role as a younger Nick Fury in this movie. We get to see a less badass and immature part of the character. Couple this with Captain Marvel's wit and we've got one of the best on-screen character chemistry. They work together very well and I can't wait to see them interact in Avengers: Endgame.
The movie is packed with a lot if action as well as properly choreographed fight scenes. The CGI is very believable and very well constructed as you would expect in any Marvel movie. It is also filled with quite funny comedic quips if you are into that kind of stuff.

What's Not So Great About It
Just like most movie in the MCU, the movie sacrifices many of its opportunities to showcase how badass their characters are for comedy. Not to spoil anything, but the way Nick Fury lost his eye is one of these intances. Also, during the last scene, Captain Marvel could have simply fought and won her mentor Yon-Ragg in a hand-to-hand combat proving how good she had become. That would have been an awesome way of ending the movie. Instead, she chose to do something funny. Personally, that scene was a real letdown for me.
Also, as with other MCU movies, there are various inconsistencies which either make no sense or do not just correspond with the established storylines. It also leaves is with various questions about the movie.

Conclusion
Whether you think it's a great movie or not, it's a movie every Marvel / DC, superhero fans and moviegoers in general deserves to give a chance. Enter the theatre with an open mind and you will not be disappointed when you leave. As for me, I give the movie a 7/10.

It cannot be considered one of the top marvel movies but overall it was ok..I am not sure though if Brie Larson was the best choice.
